| The goal of recreation therapy is to rehabilitate the body, mind, and soul while using recreational activities as a creative outlet. Services are provided by trained professional supervisors certified through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification. Recreation therapists utilize a variety of activities to help residents achieve their goals. Residents participate in facilitated groups to learn appropriate social skills, conflict resolution, anger management, team building, leisure education, physical fitness, and self-expression. Daily sessions provide residents opportunities to express their feelings in a positive and safe manner.  Weekly outings into the community allow residents to experience new leisure interests and to practice appropriate social skills. |
