| He gave the property to the Glad Tidings Mission to rehabilitate vagrant men. When this idea did not work out, it was decided to use the property to develop a home for youth. |
Christian Haven is governed by an independent Board of Directors. We are licensed as a Child Caring Institution as well as a Private Secure Facility by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Family and Children. We are also governed by regulations of the state Fire Marshall and the Board of Health. Our kitchen facilities are also licensed by the Jasper County Board of Health.  Christian Haven is a member of IARCCA-An Association of Child and Family Services, the Christian Stewardship Association, Network of Juvenile Justice Ministries and the Christian Management Association. We are affiliated with the Great Lakes and Forest Lakes Districts of the Evangelical Free Church of America and the Midwest Baptist General Conference. We are also affiliated as a "Partner in Peacemaking" with Peacemaker® Ministries of Billings, Montana. | |
